The 5” k-style gutter has been the standard size gutter for most homes in the past. The larger 6” gutter can handle more water from larger roof sizes, steeper roofs, and houses with lots of valleys. Many people are upgrading to the larger 6” gutter size to accommodate for the larger volumes of water that come from the torrential downpours that we have been having over the past couple of years.
